Our Founding Journey
ALOLIKA started its journey on 15th January 2015 with the vision to help people see this beautiful world brilliantly. Cataract was and remains a major cause of blindness, especially in rural areas. We aimed to provide quality eyecare with advanced Phacoemulsification technology. We believe the benefits of Phacoemulsification must reach every patient, regardless of their financial package.
As years went by, we realized there was a severe unmet need for patients with retinal problems in Bankura and adjoining areas. Families were forced to undertake long journeys to Kolkata or other states for basic checkups and operations, causing immense economic distress for economically vulnerable communities.
To solve this crisis, we launched our Retina Clinics, and on 2nd January 2016, renowned retinal surgeons from Kolkata began performing complex surgeries at our facility in Bankura. On 9th December 2018, we commenced our comprehensive glaucoma service, followed by our Low Vision Aid (LVA) Clinic in 2019.
